Hospital Re-Opening Plan – What You Can Expect

Three Rivers Health has begun outpatient surgeries, starting with the most urgent & semi-urgent cases.

Visitation will be limited to accommodate the Executive Order from Governor Witmer. We will be allowing one visitor, 18 years or older, to accompany our patients (one support person for the Birthing Center). Both the patient and visitor (support person) will be screened when entering the hospital, to include temperature checks. We are requiring that patients and visitors wear a mask. Visitors will remain in the patient’s room, throughout the duration of the stay. Support persons are able to leave the premises (once) if urgent items were forgotten. If the support person leaves a second time, they will not be permitted back into patient areas.

Masks have been provided to our employees and they are required to wear them as they travel throughout the building. Masks are also required for anyone entering our building. If a patient or visitor does not have their own mask or face covering, they can inquire about receiving one from our front desk. If anyone must touch or adjust their cloth face covering they should perform hand hygiene immediately before and after. Face masks and cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. Patients may remove their cloth face covering when in their rooms but should put them back on when leaving their room or when others enter the room. 

Our lobby will be remain open only to visitors and patients until further notice. Our Emergency Entrance will be the only entrance available to the public.

Conference Rooms will not be used for regular meetings. Virtual meetings are still the safest option, and should be used as often as possible for those in the building and working remotely.

Shared spaces will be structured to enforce social distancing to the best of our ability and disinfected frequently.

Front door screening positions will remain in place until further notice.

We will be continuously evaluating and determining which employees are able to come back to work onsite and which services will be opened. Each office may have procedural changes, so please call ahead to ensure you have all that you need.

Telemedicine will continue to be an option for our patient’s appointments. Please be aware that some illnesses or injuries may require an in-person visit with the physician. If a patient begins to experience symptoms of COVID-19, they should contact their provider immediately to determine if in-person visits should be rescheduled.

Testing is available in the main lab. Patients will be screened at the front desk and go back to their draw station. Each station will be cleaned and sanitized between patient visits. Configuration of waiting area will be arranged to best accommodate physical distancing. Patients will also be permitted to wait in the main lobby.

We will continually evaluate services and expanding the ability to open additional items for our patients. These new plans for reopening are based off of the recommendations by our Governor, the State of Michigan Health and Human Services, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in an effort to keep our employees and community as safe as possible.
