Three Rivers Health Surgical Services is Pleased to Announce the Addition of Dr. Akiyoshi Kido

Three Rivers Health is pleased to announce the addition of general surgeon Dr. Akiyoshi Kido.
Dr. Kido received his medical degree from Kyushu University School of Medicine in Japan, and completed his internship at Elyria Memorial Hospital in Ohio. He completed residency training in surgery at the VA Center and Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Kido is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons.
Dr. Kido joins Dr. Tom Tavarone, general surgeon, and Dr. Kenneth Wiencek, orthopedic surgeon, at Three Rivers Health Surgical Services. Dr. Kido was a general surgeon with Borgess Family Medicine of Plainwell for 14 years before joining Three Rivers Health in November. He also served as an emergency room physician and in-flight physician with Kalamazoo Emergency Associates Borgess Medical Center.
“Dr. Kido has been very well received by our medical staff and patients, and we welcome him and his wife Michele to our community,” said Laurie Herbert, Vice President of Operations for Three Rivers Health.
Dr. Kido and his wife Michele both enjoy gardening and nature. They also love to vacation with family at Disney World. “It felt like coming home when we moved here in November. Three Rivers is a very warm and friendly community,” said Dr. Kido.
