What is the Three Rivers Health Foundation, and what does it do?
The Three Rivers Health Foundation is dedicated to raising funds to support current needs and future expansions and improvements in technology and equipment that will enhance healthcare at Three Rivers Health. It sponsors community events and fundraisers for the general public to become involved in and aware of Three Rivers Health and its current and future funding needs.
How does the Community benefit by having the Three Rivers Health Foundation?
Through your gifts and support, Three Rivers Health will continue to be the driving force for wellness and healthcare in the Three Rivers area and surrounding communities.
Are funds to the Foundation endowed? (Using interest only)
No. Currently the Foundation does not hold an endowment fund. The long-term plan is to open an endowment when funds become available to do so.
Will my gift be used for operating expenses at Three Rivers Health?
No. Your gift will not be used for the day-to-day operating expenses or debt repayment.
Can I designate my gift to a certain project?
Currently we have designated funds for Hospice and the General Fund. The preferred use of your gift is through the General Fund, allowing the Foundation the flexibility to use funds for current needs and the means to plan for future requirements.
Should you have a strong preference to contribute to a specific project, piece of equipment, or service, please contact Karen Warner, Development Officer, at 269.273.9700.
What is the difference between the Foundation and the Auxiliary (Volunteer Core)?
The primary goal of the Foundation is to raise community awareness of needs and conduct fundraising to meet those needs. This will ensure we can provide the best care, close to home, with the latest technology and medical equipment possible, both now and in the future.
The primary goal of the Auxiliary is to lend assistance with direct services such as greeting patients and visitors, operating the snack bar, gift shop and gift cart, and other services to enhance patients’ and visitors’ experiences at the Medical Center. Their annual Lights of Love campaign raises funds for a specified project, normally a new piece of equipment, to benefit patients. Other funds raised by the Auxiliary may be used for Three Rivers Health projects or others as approved by the Auxiliary, such as nursing scholarships.
Are members on the Foundation Board paid or are they volunteers?
The board members generously contribute their time, talents, and financial resources, all on a volunteer basis.
How many people serve on the Foundation Board and how are they selected?
The board currently has 13 members. Board members are recruited based on their complementary strengths and the talents they contribute to the success of the Foundation. There are additional opportunities for citizens to contribute, such as special projects, if they would like to support the Foundation.
Can I volunteer my time to help at Foundation Events??
Yes, by all means. Please contact Karen Warner, Development Officer, at 269.273.9700, to learn how you can help. | | |
